Norway’s Paal Golberg and Sweden’s Stina Nilsson won the first races of the season in Ruka.

Snowfall continued from the mornings qualification and the tracks went soft, but it didn’t slow down the worlds best skiers.

Men’s final got it’s conclusion in the final uphill when Golberg pulled the gap to his main contenders. Calle Halfvarsson finished second as he couldn’t catch Golberg and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo was third. In the earlier heats Klaebo, just 20-years-old, was dominant but didn’t succeed to snatch a victory in the final.

The home crowd was happy when Krista Pärmäkoski finished fifth and got a great start to the season.
