Johannes Rydzek from Germany took the win of Sunday’s Nordic Combined individual Gundersen 10 km.

Eric Frenzel, Germany made a good comeback after two difficult competitions and took the second place ahead of Finland’s Eero Hirvonen.

“First day was a big disappointment for me. I had put big expectations for the opening weekend and it started then so poorly”, Hirvonen told after the competition.

Nordic Combined Ruka Tour overall win went to Akito Watabe from Japan, who managed to beat Norway’s Espen Andersen with just 8 points difference in the overall cup.

After a training accident earlier in the week, he had to fight with his own pain and others as well. During the last downhill, he collided with Joergen Graabak (NOR) and lost his ski.

“I couldn’t hold the pace or try to take off from the group where Eero (Hirvonen), Joergen (Graabak) and Johannes (Rydzek) were”, Watabe told.
