On Saturday men competed on classic interval.  Iivo Niskanen won clearly at Ruka. Johannes Hosflot Klaebo was second and Emil Iversen was third.

Niskanen won for the third time at Ruka

Niskanen and Klaebo were on the track at the same time. The Finn left Klaebo behind on a second lap. It was his third first place finish at Ruka.

-It wasn’t a perfect race but I’ve been in  good shape lately. It’s always nice to win in front of the home crowd, Niskanen said.

Top 10 was filled with Norwegians and Russians. Niskanen was the only exception.

Three Finnish skiers achieved World Cup points

Perttu Hyvarinen was 17th and Lari Lehtonen was 19th. Overall the results were good for the host country.

– The crowd was really great today but I was hoping for better result, Hyvarinen told after the race.

Ruka Tripla will be resolved on sunday

Saturdays top three will be the biggest favourites to win Ruka Tripla. Klaebo has the advantage because he will start 16 seconds before Iversen. Niskanen starts two seconds after Iversen.

– It’s good to be back I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s race and I think it will be an interesting race, Klaebo said after the race.

Sundays pursuit race starts half past twelve.
